Maurizio Rolli is an upright and electric bass player and teacher, big band arranger and composer. His new record “Rolli’s tones” (Widesound) features freshly rearranged hard rock classics, arranged for the Rolli’s Tones Big Band, with guests Peter Erskine, Mike Stern, Hiram Bullock, Bob Sheppard and Bob Franceschini. The CD will be officially launched at the Pescara Jazz Festival on July 19th with a live performance featuring Peter Erskine and Bob Mintzer, and the show will be recorded for an upcoming DVD release.

Maurizio currently teaches electric bass, double bass and jazz harmony studies at the Accademia Musicale Pescarese (Pescara), L.D’Annunzio Conservatory (Pescara), Conservatorio U.Giordano (Foggia), Conservatorio L.D’Annunzi” (Pescara) as well as in Rome and Messina.

He's bass player for R.A.R.E., featuring Alex Acuña on percussion and Otmaro Ruiz on piano, and was the bass player in X-perience: a trio featuring Hiram Bullock and Israel Varela. Since 2006, he's been a member of the Gianfranco Continenza Band, helping the leader produce and arrange his first album, "The Past Inside the Present", ESC Records’ second best-selling album, and the top jazz guitar CD at Tower Records (USA) for more than 3 weeks.

Since September, 2000, he's been the director of the Rolli's Tones Big Band. In October 2001 (50th anniversary of Jaco’s birth), the band recorded the CD Moodswings: a Tribute to the Music of Jaco Pastorius, with special guests Michael Manring and Mike Stern.His composition "Dialoghi" was featured on a Bassics Magazine CD along with Michael Manring , Jaco Pastorius, Peter Erskine, Jimmy Haslip, Alain Caron etc... Maurizio the bass player on the Rai 1 national TV shows Notti sul ghiaccio, Miss Italia nel mondo, Usa la testa, Ciak si canta and many others.
