Randy has also toured the world four times with guitar god Jeff Beck, and played on Jeff's Who Else and You Had it Coming albums. Randy took Markbass on the road with him for the latest Jeff Beck tour in Europe and the US in the summer and fall of 2006.
"I discovered Markbass by word of mouth," says Randy. "I was rehearsing with Jeff and it was suggested that I should give Markbass a test run." The amps were clearly a hit. "First and foremost I like the clean, true sound that Markbass amplification produces, and the look is distinctive." Randy explains. "A lot of guitarists I've played with like the sound and size. Jeff Beck commented on how clean Markbass sounded, and most people that came to our shows said it sounded great out front."
If he has to choose, Randy's favorite Markbass product is the Mini CMD121P. "Again, it's light yet powerful and looks great on the little stand the guys at Markbass designed. They say that good things come in small packages. Well done Markbass--bass players don't have to work out at the gym anymore!"
Randy's impressive list of credits includes Jamiroquai, D'Angelo, Chaka Khan, Al Green, Terence Trent D'Arby, Mica Paris, Jonathan Butler, Phillip Bailey, Brian Kennedy, Damage, R. Kelly, Urban Species, Viva Cabaret (TV series w/ Kid Creole, Marc Almond, Jools Holland), Mica Paris, Jazz Explosion (Ronnie Laws, Paulino da Costa, Keni Burke, Leon Ware), Jocelyn Brown, Heaven 17, Five Star, Aha, Matt Bianco, Womack and Womack, Mavis Staples and the Jonathan Ross House Band.
What's coming up in 2007 for Randy? "Shows and recording with my band the Allstars, my gospel choir Life Of Praise, and maybe some more work with Jeff Beck and whatever that comes along."
