Massimo Moriconi is one of the most influential personalities in the Italian and international musical world. He was repeatedly elected as the best bass and double bass player by competent magazines. Moriconi has cooperated, since he was a child, with the Italian “father” of jazz like Nicola Arigliano, Armando Trovajoli and Lelio Luttazzi. He has been involved during his long career in numerous formations, he has collaborated for a long time with Mina, he is the session man of her records for more than 40 years.
He started playing bass at 13 years old, after the classical studies at the Conservatory: “L. Refice” in Frosinone, he has begun an intense sideman activity in numerous Italian and international groups.
Equally prestigious was the collaboration with the US trumpeter, jazz icon, Chet Baker. When he was only 25, for approx. 10 years, he played as bass player with the 'Orchestra dei Ritmi Leggeri' of RAI in Rome. He has recorded soundtracks with composers and conductors like: Ennio Morricone, Armando Trovajoli, Luis Bacalov,  Riz Ortolani , Nicola Piovani,  Piero Piccioni.
He is the founder, and actually also the academic director, of the Percento Musica in Rome, one of the finest artistic training centers in Italy.
