Peter Murray is the bassist for progressive rock band Druckfarben. He has performed with Ron Sexsmith, Damhnait Doyle, Honeymoon Suite, Sass Jordan and many others, and is the author of Essential Bass Technique.

Peter Murray is a freelance bassist, singer-songwriter, author and producer from Toronto, Canada. As a bassist he's worked on stage and in studios with a wide range of artists including Ron Sexsmith, Damhnait Doyle, Honeymoon Suite, Sass Jordan, Surrender Dorothy, Jian Ghomeshi, Andy Kim, Tomi Swick, Suzie McNeil, Jerome Godboo, Shaye, Dominic Mancuso, Martina Sorbara (Dragonette), Rita Chiarelli, Madison Violet, Julie Doiron, Don Kerr, Jory Nash, Stewart Agnew, Kevin Fox, Dayna Manning, Greg Wyard, and the Cash Brothers.
 
Peter is the bassist for the progressive rock band Druckfarben, which released a critically acclaimed self-titled debut CD in 2011 and a live DVD, “Artifact”, in 2013. They will release their second CD (“Second Sound”) in the Spring of 2014.
He is also a member of The Dave Murphy Band and The Nomads.
 
Peter has also performed with Seymour Duncan, Carmine Appice, Stevie Salas, Jeff Healey, Kevin Breit, Rob Affuso, Colin Linden, Jeff Martin, Richard Bell, Bobby Economou, Michel Cusson, Alain Caron, Brooks Wackerman, Phillip Sayce, Jake Langley, Ken Greer, Marc Cooper, Vito Rezza, Bob Wiseman, Feist, Richard Underhill, Dexter Allen, Jack DeKeyzer and many others. He has produced albums by Wooden Stars, Pamela Brennan and Morgan Finlay.
Peter is the author of Essential Bass Technique, published by Hal Leonard Corporation. Originally published by Mel Bay Publications in 1995, this book is considered the definitive book on bass technique, and has been honoured with an A+ review in Bass Player magazine and endorsments from Michael Manring, Billy Sheehan, Alain Caron, Tom Hamilton (Aerosmith) and many others.
 
Peter's performed around the world both as a sideman and a solo artist. In 2007 he released his debut solo CD “Ants and Angels”, touring in Ireland, Japan, Korea and North America to promote it. The record charted on several AAA-format stations in the USA and earned glowing reviews as one of the year’s top intelligent pop albums.
